Our team of clinicians know that describing what you feel can be much the same experience. You know something’s not right, or there is something that you can’t do the same, but you just can’t figure it out.
When you visit our North York clinic for help, we use all the tools at our disposal to get right to that click, clunk or squeak. The process starts with questions that add more information to our understanding; “is it like this or like that…?’. If you still aren’t sure, good news: we know what to look for. Observation is a big part of how we learn what help you need. How well you stand from sitting, are you leaning or favoring, maybe you prefer to stand. Still don’t have the words… that’s ok. Some of the questions we ask don’t even use words – that’s what physical test are for.
Your healthcare works best as a partnership. Communication comes in many forms. It’s ok if you don’t have the words… just don’t hold back the words. Be open. Be honest. Be transparent. And advocate for yourself.
